The Role As Area Retail Trainer (ART) you will drive sales and support the M·A·C Vision in Jutland & Funen. This you will do by developing the skills and knowledge of our artists in the field - through in-store education, classroom-based education and eLearning. You will spend approximately 60% of your time in the field and 40% at the office with 5-10 travel days per month.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • You will drive Brand Sales through: o Classroom Education o The development of field Sales and Training leaders - inspire and track the commercial, artistry, product knowledge and customer service skills of the Sales and Education field leaders. o In-Store Support - Ensure that training initiatives are effectively translated into behaviors that support excellence in service, artistry and product knowledge. o In-Store Education - Observe Sales and Education field leaders and provide constructive feedback. o eLearning Content - Create locally relevant artistry, service and product knowledge-focused tutorial videos for eLearning site in collaboration with the Make Up Artistry, PR and Consumer marketing teams.

 

  • Play active role in refining and evolving the Education and business strategy for the region by:

o Aligning with the Sales and Training field leaders, leveraging feedback from the field on the effectiveness of education initiatives, gather training needs analysis, staff performance/mystery shop results, and general sales and education business gaps. o Attending select monthly counter meetings to present new ideas and discuss departmental developments. o Attending strategy meetings to discuss Education and business strategies, competitive landscape, evolving customer needs, review progress on regional priorities, identify challenges and define action plans that support the needs of the business. o Executing training solutions to regional challenges including weak sell-through results, challenges with product categories, service challenges, etc.

 

  • Lead and develop employees by:

o Providing the field leaders with tools needed to effectively empower the retail managers to drive their teams and business to success o Supporting the interviewing and selection o Supporting succession planning programs by identifying development opportunities o Assisting in the implementation of measures to reduce and minimize staff turnover including coaching and developing others, providing clear feedback and offering ways to effectively and efficiently improve o Helping to monitor and recommend action to correct poor performance.

 

Financial Accountabilities:

o Ensure the timely submission and accuracy of credit card statements, expense reports and company-owned asset forms. o Assist in reviewing and tracking expenditures in accordance with departmental/affiliate budgets. o Help ensure training premises are maintained, clean, functional and properly equipped. o Help maintain security and control of training equipment materials within the training premises.

 

 

Key Requirements: - Specialist education in Makeup Artistry or Equivalent experience from the makeup industry. - 2+ years' experience as an Makeup Artist and/or within an makeup education department. - Minimum of 1-year experience in an educational and/or leadership function. - Experience as a Product Specialist and event team member. - Proven exceptional ability in makeup application and customer service skills - Strong communication skill including public speaking, facilitation and content creation. - Strong ability to analyze retail environment needs and provide actionable training solution.   - Must be versatile and have the ability to adapt approach to all levels of the business from top management to retail artists - Organizational skills including planning of larger events, budgets and retail KPI analyses.

What We Offer You will become part of a creative team consisting of 5 other Area Retail Trainers across the Nordic, one based in Copenhagen, two in Sweden and two in Norway. You will report to the Nordic Education Manager. You will also have a strong relationship to the Area Sales Manager responsible for Jutland & Funen. You will participate in Nordic fashion weeks, sales and education development modules and workshops focused on eLearning, SoMe and advanced makeup.
